U.S. Representative Terri A. Sewell, who has represented Alabama’s 7th district in Congress since 2011, recently addressed a range of national and local issues on her social media account.

On July 23, 2025, Sewell announced her support for a proposed constitutional amendment aimed at limiting presidential immunity. She wrote, “I’m cosponsoring a constitutional amendment led by @RepJoeMorelle which would reverse the Supreme Court’s egregious decision to put presidents above the law.”

Later that day, she commented on efforts to change congressional districts in Texas and criticized Republican strategies regarding healthcare and voting rights. In her post from July 23, 2025, she stated, “After ripping health care away from millions of Americans, Republicans are running scared from their own voters. Their latest plot to redraw the Texas congressional map is a blatant power grab meant to silence the voices of Americans and rig the game in their favor. I stood”.

In another message posted on July 23, 2025, Sewell expressed appreciation for Senator Robert Stewart’s advocacy in Washington: “So grateful to Senator Robert Stewart for making the journey to Washington to give a voice to our constituents in Alabama’s 7th Congressional District! Watch his testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee here.”

Sewell was born in Huntsville, Alabama in 1965 and currently resides in Birmingham. She holds degrees from Princeton University (BA), St Hilda’s College at Oxford (MA), and Harvard University (JD). She succeeded Artur Davis as representative of Alabama’s 7th district beginning in 2011.
