Rep. Terri A. Sewell, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Alabama’s 7th district since 2011, recently shared updates on her activities and initiatives through social media posts.
On June 4, 2025, Rep. Sewell announced that “Team Sewell is in Jefferson County today for mobile office hours.” She invited constituents to visit the Irondale Senior Activity Center before 1 PM to receive assistance with federal needs.
The following day, June 5, 2025, she expressed excitement over a local development project by stating that “Team Sewell was thrilled to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of the new Southtown Senior Development in Birmingham!” The project aims to provide affordable housing options for seniors.
On June 6, 2025, Rep. Sewell highlighted her advocacy efforts regarding job training programs by tweeting that “I joined 198 of my colleagues in a letter calling on Trump’s Labor Secretary to save Job Corps.” She emphasized the importance of this program in offering career advancement opportunities for young people.
Terri Sewell was born in Huntsville, Alabama in 1965 and currently resides in Birmingham. She holds degrees from Princeton University (BA), St Hilda’s College at Oxford (MA), and Harvard University (JD).
