U.S. Representative Terri A. Sewell, who represents Alabama’s 7th district in Congress, recently shared updates on her activities and advocacy efforts through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).
On August 13, Sewell informed constituents about the conclusion of her team’s mobile office hours in Lisman, writing, “Team Sewell just wrapped up our mobile office hours in Lisman. Don’t worry! If you missed us, you can still get help on casework, benefits, and other federal matters by contacting my office at https://t.co/2H8P8h0xRD https://t.co/wNfarR7OBC”.
The following day, August 14, Sewell highlighted a meeting with rare disease advocates: “Today, Team Sewell had the opportunity to sit down with members of the Rare Disease Legislative Advocates to discuss their federal priorities for 2025. I’m proud to be fighting for research, awareness, early detection, and treatment to address the scourge of rare diseases! https://t.co/AOqFcIP6fW”.
Later that same day, she marked a milestone for Social Security by posting: “LIVE NOW: Today is the 90th anniversary of Social Security and I’m speaking with @RepJohnLarson about why we must protect and enhance this critical program! https://t.co/Epfs2yGm24”.
Sewell has represented Alabama’s 7th District since 2011 after succeeding Artur Davis. She was born in Huntsville in 1965 and currently resides in Birmingham. Her educational background includes degrees from Princeton University (BA), St Hilda’s College at Oxford (MA), and Harvard Law School (JD).
