Rep. Terri A. Sewell, a U.S. Congress member representing Alabama’s 7th District since 2011, recently shared her thoughts on social media regarding several pressing issues and events. Sewell expressed condolences for the loss of a colleague, criticized policy decisions by prominent figures, and addressed the impact of natural disasters in her state.

On March 14, 2025, Rep. Sewell tweeted her sympathies following the passing of her colleague Rep. Raúl Grijalva: “My sincerest condolences on the passing of my colleague, @RepRaulGrijalva. I’m keeping his loved ones and staff close in my prayers. May he Rest in Peace.”

Later that day, she voiced strong criticism against former President Donald Trump and entrepreneur Elon Musk for their financial policies: “You can’t make this up! Trump and Musk are literally cutting funding for hungry kids in order to give tax cuts to billionaires… This is the definition of cruelty!”

On March 16, 2025, Sewell addressed the devastation caused by tornadoes in Alabama: “My heart breaks for those affected by the devastating tornados throughout our state including in our District in Gordo and Newbern… My team and I are in contact with state EMA and local officials…”
