Former Shades Valley High School standout and current Tulane Green Wave player, Sam Howard will compete in the NCAA Division I FBS Football Championship.
They begin the tournament as a number 11 seed against the North Texas Mean Green.
The first game is on Friday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m.
The UAB Blazers men’s golf team secured second place at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate led by Morgan Slaton’s third-place finish. Erik Olin also placed in the top ten as several teammates contributed strong performances. The team’s next competition is set for later this month in Mobile, Alabama.
Samford senior Santiago Arredondo has been named Southern Conference Player of the Week after strong performances in both doubles and singles matches. He will lead the Bulldogs as they prepare to play Lipscomb at home this week.
