UAB Football announced on Apr. 2 that it will host the 2026 Football Golf Tournament on Wednesday, May 6, at Bent Brook Golf Course. The event will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.

The annual tournament is an important fundraising event for UAB Football, supporting resources and development for the program as it enters a new chapter under head coach Alex Mortensen.

“UAB Football means a lot to this city, and we want to continue strengthening that connection,” Mortensen said. “This tournament is a great way for our supporters to spend time with our program and be part of the direction we’re heading. We’re building something we’re proud of, and we want Birmingham with us every step of the way.”

A range of sponsorship opportunities are available for individuals and organizations interested in supporting the Blazers. Options include Title Sponsor ($12,000), Presenting Sponsor ($8,500), Blazer Sponsor ($5,500), Green & Gold Sponsor ($2,000), Lunch Sponsor ($3,000), Breakfast Sponsor ($1,000), Hole Sponsor ($250), Tent Sponsor ($500), Putting Green Sponsor ($500), Beverage Cart Sponsor ($500) and Individual Golfer registration at $500 per person. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit UAB Football as preparations continue for the upcoming season.

For more information or to secure a sponsorship spot in the tournament, interested parties are encouraged to contact Blazer Boosters or make checks payable to “UAB Athletics Foundation” with “UAB Football Golf Fundraiser” noted in the memo line.

Season tickets for UAB’s 2026 football season are also currently on sale. Ticket packages cover all six home games at Protective Stadium and offer various pricing options along with tailgating opportunities.

In addition to participating in or sponsoring the golf tournament, supporters can contribute through initiatives like the Competitive Excellence Fund which assists Coach Mortensen’s efforts in recruiting and retaining student athletes.
