Three Blazers will be representing the Green and Gold this week at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Division Preliminaries. Participants from UAB include:

Anna Massa – Pole Vault
Kat Duren – 100m Hurdles
Lisa Petkov – 400m Hurdles

“Lisa, Anna, and Kat are excited to be able to compete here at an NCAA Championship meet,” said head coach Kurt Thomas. “They have looked really good at practice here at the competition track and will be ready to go on Thursday. Being one of the best pole vaulters and hurdlers in the country is a great accomplishment, but they aren’t satisfied with just being here. They are great competitors. If Kat and Lisa finish in the top 24 on Thursday they’ll compete in the quarterfinals on Saturday. Anna’s vault competition needs to be in the top 12 out of 48 to qualify for finals in Eugene. She’s good enough to do that.”

On Thursday, Duren will compete at 6:00 p.m. ET, Massa will vault at 6:30 p.m. ET, and Petkov will compete at 8:20 ET.

This is the second time that Massa and Petkov have represented in NCAA Preliminary Rounds in the Outdoor season. This is third year in a row that UAB has been represented in an NCAA Preliminary meet. (The 2020 outdoor season was canceled due to COVID-19)
