UAB to Play USF in Opening Round of Sunshine Slam

The UAB men’s basketball team will open the Sunshine Slam against future American Athletic Conference member USF on Monday, Nov. 21, at 6 p.m. at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Fla. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
 
The winner of that game will advance to face the winner of Georgia or Saint Joseph’s in the championship contest at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22. The championship game will also air on CBS Sports Network.
 
Additionally, each team in the Beach Bracket (UAB’s bracket) will host a team from the Ocean Bracket on campus prior to arriving on in Florida. UAB’s Ocean Bracket opponent is Presbyterian which is scheduled for Nov. 16 inside Bartow Arena.
 
These three games add to a highly competitive non-conference schedule which also includes a road game at West Virginia (Dec. 10), a home game against South Carolina (Dec. 14) at Bartow Arena, and a neutral site contest in Philadelphia against Toledo as part of the inaugural Barstool Sports Tournament (Nov. 11).
 
Andy Kennedy enters his third season at the helm of UAB and has compiled an overall record of 49-15 in his first two seasons. The Blazers are the reigning Conference USA Champions and tallied a school record 27 victories in 2021.
 
UAB men’s basketball season-ticket packages for the 2022-23 season are on sale now and start for as low as $110 in Blaze’s Corner. The public season-ticket price is set at $275, while season tickets for UAB employees and alumni are available for $245 per seat.
