UAB Track and Field athletes won five events at the UAB Spring Invite, according to a March 28 announcement. The victories included four individual wins and a team win in the 4×100 meter relay.

The results highlight strong performances by several members of the UAB squad. Corinne Ball won the triple jump with a mark of 11.76 meters, finishing .23 meters ahead of her closest competitor. The Blazers’ 4×100 meter relay team—consisting of Victory George, Gabby Washington, Kat Duren, and Leticia Quingostas—finished just .10 seconds ahead of UAH to claim first place.

Jordyn Dortch earned victory in the 100 meter race with a time of 11.67 seconds, narrowly winning by .02 seconds. Kelly Hughes set a personal best in the 800 meter event with a time of 2:14.65, improving her previous record by .70 seconds.

In addition to these wins, UAB athletes also secured several top-three finishes: Hannah-Sophie Pippel placed third in javelin; Victory George was third in long jump; Hope Foster took third in high jump; Leticia Quingostas finished third in the 400 meter hurdles; Jordyn Dortch was third in the 200 meters; and UAB’s team placed third in the 4×400 relay.
