HOMEWOOD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Homewood Chamber Honors Top Students with Caravan Ceremony

Homewood Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on July 27.

The Homewood Chamber of Commerce recognized a student from each of the schools in the Homewood City School system with the Annual Excellence in Education Awards on July 21st. In lieu of the traditional luncheon this year due to social distancing regulations, the chamber traveled to the homes of the students and presented them with awards at their homes.  Meredith Drennen, Executive Director of the Homewood Chamber of Commerce, along with Floresha Watkins Woodall, a Homewood Chamber Board Member and Regions Bank Executive, distributed the award certificates to the students. The Homewood High School Award Winner is also the recipient of a scholarship sponsored by Regions Bank. The caravan ceremony honored students from the five Homewood City Schools:

  • Harrison Massie of Homewood High School
  • Kayla Warren of Homewood Middle School
  • Travis Heathcock of Edgewood Elementary School
  • Emily Villanueva Garcia of Hall-Kent Elementary School·         
  • Jackson Martin of Shades Cahaba Elementary School
