Cost of college went up for all students at Miles College

Tuition and fees rose 2.9 percent for 2018-19 at Miles College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Alabama students paid $12,132 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $338 more than the $11,794 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 99 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 304 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2.3 million and 286 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.9 million.

Including all undergraduates (1,550), 1,544 students used grants or scholarships totaling $11.4 million, and 1,527 students took out $11 million in federal student loans.
