6.1% of citizens unemployed in Jefferson County in 2021

Jefferson County recorded an unemployment rate of 6.1% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 19,994 people out of the 672,550 living in Jefferson County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Jefferson County has decreased compared to the 6.2% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Jefferson County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.4%.

Of the 308,614 people who had a job during that time, 557 were employed in the Armed Forces and 308,057 belonged to the civilian labor force.
