In response to the Department of Justice's report on the mishandling of classified documents by former Vice President Joe Biden, Representative Gary Palmer (AL-06) expressed his concerns regarding Biden's actions. Palmer stated, "The special counsel’s report paints a clear picture of former Vice President Joe Biden willfully and knowingly retaining classified material as a private citizen." He pointed out that Biden had no authority to declassify the material but continued discussing it with a ghostwriter for his memoir.

Palmer further criticized the Department of Justice's decision not to charge Biden with a crime based on this revelation. He suggested that the DOJ's behavior towards President Trump was politically motivated and aimed at preventing his re-election to the White House. Palmer stated, "The fact that the Department of Justice chose not to charge him with a crime based on this revelation proves their behavior toward President Trump is purely political and designed to prevent Trump from being re-elected to the White House."

However, Palmer highlighted another significant aspect of the report - the state of Biden's cognitive decline. He questioned how the American people could trust their leader to be fit for the White House when his own poor memory was cited as a reason for the DOJ's decision not to prosecute him. Palmer concluded, "As damaging as this report is for President Biden, perhaps the most important revelation is the state of his cognitive decline. How can the American people believe their leader is fit for the White House when his own poor memory was a reason the DOJ chose not to prosecute him?"

The release of the Department of Justice's report has brought attention to Biden's handling of classified documents and raised concerns about his ability to lead effectively. Representative Palmer's statement underscores the need for transparency and accountability in government, particularly when it comes to safeguarding national security.
