Washington, D.C. – Representative Gary Palmer (AL-06) recently voted against the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024. In a released statement, Palmer expressed his concerns about the bill and the overall legislative process.

"Voting on two different days does not change the fact that Congress is considering the first half of an omnibus bill," said Rep. Palmer. He criticized Congress for neglecting key issues like the debt crisis and immigration crisis while focusing on temporary funding bills negotiated by only a few members. Palmer highlighted the lack of important policy changes and constraints on spending in the appropriation bills.

“I made a commitment to vote for sound policy and to reduce wasteful government spending. Unfortunately, this bill misses the mark," Palmer emphasized his dedication to responsible fiscal policies.
