WASHINGTON, D.C., July 1, 2024 — U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) released a statement following the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling on presidential immunity.

"Today’s decision by the Supreme Court helps to ensure that the leader of the free world can effectively execute the duties of their office without fear of retribution from political prosecutions, particularly as it relates to a President’s core constitutional powers and other official acts. The Court’s decision upholds and protects America’s foundational system of separated powers and checks and balances," said Sen. Britt.

Senator Britt further criticized what she described as partisan efforts against the judiciary: "Democrats’ continued partisan campaign to delegitimize the Supreme Court is dangerous, irresponsible, and undermines our constitutional republic."
