U.S. Senator Katie Britt congratulated 13 Alabama students on their acceptance to United States service academies for the fall semester. The academies include the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and U.S. Air Force Academy.

"On behalf of the people of Alabama, it was truly an honor to nominate these outstanding young men and women to attend our nation’s prestigious service academies," said Senator Britt. "I am proud to support some of our state’s best and brightest who have displayed exemplary character, leadership, and academic excellence as they answer the call to serve our United States Armed Forces. I look forward to seeing all that they achieve."

For consideration for a service academy nomination, applicants must be residents of Alabama and complete the required ACT or SAT exams. They must also provide letters of recommendation, an official school transcript, and a completed application form.

Although Senator Britt nominated these students, the academy to which they received a nomination made the final admission decision.
