U.S. Senator Katie Britt has extended a warm welcome to the new members of the U.S. Senate and expressed her hopes for advancing Alabama's priorities in the 119th Congress. In a statement released on January 3, 2025, she congratulated the incoming senators: Angela Alsobrooks, Jim Banks, Lisa Blunt Rochester, John Curtis, Ruben Gallego, Jim Justice, Andy Kim, Dave McCormick, Bernie Moreno, Adam Schiff, Tim Sheehy, and Elissa Slotkin.

Senator Britt emphasized the potential for collaboration across party lines despite being "tremendously excited about the new Republican majority in the U.S. Senate." She stated that there is "still so much opportunity to get things done on a bipartisan basis for Alabamians."

Addressing her legislative agenda for the new Congress, Senator Britt highlighted her focus on border security and immigration enforcement. She remarked that strengthening these areas would be her "first priority out of the gate," noting that this was an issue strongly supported by voters in November.

She announced plans to introduce legislation aimed at enhancing safety and combating illegal migration when Congress begins its session on January 6. "It's time to make America safe once again," Senator Britt asserted.

In previous sessions of Congress, Senator Britt has introduced various legislative measures centered around America's border security and protecting families and communities.
