WASHINGTON, D.C., April 23, 2024 — U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) has voiced her support for the passage of H.R. 815, the National Security Supplemental Bill, emphasizing the importance of various measures included in the legislation.

Senator Britt expressed her satisfaction with the bill, highlighting its significance in strengthening American deterrence and addressing crucial issues such as combatting the fentanyl crisis and curbing Iran's support for terrorism. She stressed the urgency of supporting Israel in the face of ongoing threats, stating, "More than six months have passed, and approximately 130 hostages – including American citizens – are still held by Hamas, and Israel continues to fight for her very existence."

Furthermore, Senator Britt underlined the importance of safeguarding communities against rising antisemitism and pro-terrorist sentiment, particularly during times like Passover. She emphasized the need to stand with Israel and empower synagogues and houses of worship across the United States.

One of the notable aspects of the legislation highlighted by Senator Britt is the provision to force the sale of TikTok, aiming to remove the app from the control of the Chinese Communist Party. She raised concerns about the potential security risks posed by the CCP's influence through TikTok, stating, "China is effectively flying a spy balloon in the home of every TikTok user."

In addition to addressing the TikTok issue, Senator Britt emphasized the significance of making strategic investments to enhance U.S. defense capabilities and domestic manufacturing, particularly in Alabama. She noted that these investments are crucial for keeping pace with global threats and ensuring the safety of American servicemembers.

The National Security Supplemental Bill, which includes components cosponsored by Senator Britt, encompasses measures to combat the flow of deadly fentanyl, sanction illicit purchases of Iranian oil, and support Ukraine in the aftermath of Russia's invasion.

Senator Britt's support for improved border security and immigration enforcement funding was also highlighted, showcasing her commitment to various aspects of national security and defense.

The passage of H.R. 815 reflects a multi-faceted approach to bolstering national security and addressing critical challenges facing the United States and its allies.
