U.S. Senator Katie Britt of Alabama has expressed her views following the vote for the next Senate Republican Leader. In a statement released after casting her vote, Senator Britt shared her respect for the three colleagues who were candidates for the leadership position.

Senator Britt emphasized her desire for a leader who would bring significant changes to how the Senate operates, aiming to make it more effective for American citizens. She stated, "I urged candidates to showcase the ability to successfully advance President Trump’s agenda through Congress; a commitment to restore regular order in the appropriations process and end omnibuses; and a plan to empower committees and decentralize power within the chamber."

After attending Senator Mike Lee's forum and engaging in discussions with each candidate, Britt decided to support Senator Rick Scott on the first ballot. She reiterated her commitment to prioritizing Alabama's values and interests throughout this process.

Senator Britt concluded by expressing readiness to support Senator Thune as the new leader, urging unity among Senate Republicans. She remarked, "Now, it’s time to rally behind Senator Thune, come together as unified Senate Republicans, and hit the ground running to advance President Trump’s agenda and deliver real results for the American people."
