On December 4, 2024, Rep. Sewell emphasized the importance of commemorating Rosa Parks by leading a congressional effort to designate December 1st as Rosa Parks Day. She stated, "Rosa Parks is an American hero. I’m proud to be leading the effort in Congress to designate December 1st as Rosa Parks Day to commemorate her historic arrest."

Later that day, Rep. Sewell expressed her commitment to supporting Alabama's community health centers through federal funding advocacy. She tweeted on December 4, 2024: "Alabama’s community health centers play an essential role in caring for those who are uninsured and underinsured. I will continue to advocate for more federal funding to support their critical work."
