The following day, December 10, she expressed excitement over funding for a historic site: "I'm thrilled that Birmingham's historic 16th Street Baptist Church has been awarded $2.5 million from Lilly Endowment Inc. for historic preservation. These funds will help us continue to tell the story of this cherished institution for generations to come!"
On December 11, Rep. Sewell announced an investment aimed at improving local infrastructure: "Great news! @USDARD is investing $9 million in the West Dallas County Water Authority to improve water infrastructure in Dallas and Marengo counties. This investment will benefit more than 7,400 rural residents and expand access to clean, safe water."
