U.S. Senator Katie Britt participated in a Senate Banking Committee nomination hearing, where she introduced Marc Molinaro as a nominee for the position of Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). Senator Britt emphasized Molinaro's "blend of executive experience, bipartisan leadership, and an unwavering commitment to public service," citing his ability to build consensus across party lines and his understanding of transportation policy at both federal and local levels. She remarked, "Marc understands that transit isn’t just about buses and rail lines – that it’s about connecting Americans to opportunity and ultimately helping them achieve their American Dream."

During the hearing, Senator Britt also questioned several nominees of President Trump. She addressed Paul Atkins, nominated for Chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Jonathan Gould for Comptroller of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), and Luke Pettit for Treasury Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions.

Senator Britt focused on the importance of reinstating proper regulatory tailoring, asking Gould about the "purpose of [S.] 2155 and how a balanced regulatory framework actually promotes stability and growth." Gould responded about the need for common sense in bank regulation, emphasizing the distinction between smaller and larger banks.

She questioned Pettit on the necessity of communication with community banks, to which Pettit acknowledged the pivotal role of community banks and committed to engaging with them.

The SEC's previous announcement to exempt personal identifiable information (PII) from the Consolidated Audit Trail (CAT) was also discussed, with Senator Britt expressing concern about existing data vulnerabilities. Atkins agreed to reassess the necessity and protections relating to the CAT system.

Senator Britt concluded her questioning with Molinaro, highlighting the specific needs of rural communities and Molinaro responded positively with intentions to support these areas through technical aid and collaboration with transit agencies.
