U.S. Senator Katie Britt has issued a statement in response to the recent terrorist attack in New Orleans. The attack, which took place on January 1, 2025, prompted a strong reaction from the senator.

"The terrorist attack in New Orleans was an act of unbridled evil," stated Senator Britt. She expressed her condolences and support for "the victims’ loved ones and the survivors, as well as the brave law enforcement officers who rushed toward danger in selfless service to their fellow Americans."

Senator Britt emphasized the need for transparency and accountability as justice is pursued. In her capacity as Ranking Member of the Senate Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, she has requested a formal briefing from both the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Additionally, she called for this briefing to be accessible to all senators.

With the start of the 119th Congress approaching on Friday, Senator Britt stressed the importance of quickly establishing President Trump's national security team.
