Rep. Terri A. On January 28, 2025, Rep. Sewell expressed concern over the Trump Administration's executive order that resulted in freezing infrastructure projects. She stated: "My Democratic colleagues and I are demanding that the Trump Administration reveal the list of infrastructure projects frozen as a result of his executive order." She emphasized the importance of this funding for Alabama communities to address critical needs such as road and bridge repairs and lead pipe replacements.

Following up on January 29, 2025, Rep. Sewell commented on the administration's decision to rescind its memo calling for a freeze on federal funding after what she described as "24 hours of chaos." She noted: "While we may have won this battle, to be clear, Trump’s executive orders remain in place that could withhold critical federal funds from our communities."
