On January 31, 2025, Rep. Sewell tweeted about improvements to the East Selma Community Pond, stating: "Great to be in Selma to celebrate new improvements to the East Selma Community Pond! Thanks to UAB Live HealthSmart Alabama and our amazing local partners for working to make our community a healthier place for all!" This message highlights collaboration with UAB Live HealthSmart Alabama and local partners.

The following day, February 1, 2025, she provided an update on infrastructure projects in Selma. She wrote: "Last February, the Delta Regional Authority delivered $2 million to resurface 60+ blocks of downtown Selma. Today, I hosted city officials for a community update on the progress since then." She further mentioned preparations for groundbreaking activities as part of revitalizing Selma.

Later that day on February 1st, Rep. Sewell recognized Black History Month by honoring significant figures from Alabama's history. Her tweet read: "Each day of #BlackHistoryMonth, we will highlight Alabama’s extraordinary Black history makers! Today we honor the Tuskegee Airmen who fought for freedom abroad while being denied their rights here at home." She emphasized their enduring legacy in American history.
