Rep. Terri A. Sewell, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Alabama's 7th district since 2011, recently shared a series of tweets highlighting legislative efforts and historical commemorations. The tweets, posted on February 4 and 5, 2025, reflect her ongoing commitment to privacy protection legislation and honoring significant figures in Black history.

On February 4, Rep. Sewell addressed the need for legislative action to safeguard personal data. She stated, "2/ House Democrats are putting forward legislation to protect your private information. House Republicans should bring it up for a vote immediately."

Later that day, she announced the introduction of a new bill honoring civil rights icon Rosa Parks. Sewell tweeted, "NEWS: In honor of Rosa Parks’ 112th birthday, I just introduced the Rosa Parks Day Act in the House! Our bill would make Dec. 1st a federal holiday commemorating her historic arrest in Montgomery, Alabama!"

On February 5, Rep. Sewell paid tribute to Jo Ann Robinson as part of Black History Month celebrations. She wrote about Robinson's contributions to civil rights movements: "Today for #BlackHistoryMonth we honor Ms. Jo Ann Robinson, President of the Women’s Political Council and one of the key architects of the 1955 Montgomery Bus Boycott. Her spirit of justice and deft organizing changed the very fabric of our nation!"
