Rep. Terri A. Sewell, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Alabama's 7th district since 2011, has taken to social media to express her concerns regarding privacy violations allegedly involving Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump. Sewell, who has an extensive educational background with degrees from Princeton University, St Hilda's College, Oxford, and Harvard University, is actively seeking answers from the IRS about these allegations.

On February 6, 2025, Rep. Sewell tweeted about leading a letter from every Democrat on the Ways and Means Committee demanding explanations from the IRS concerning "Elon Musk’s theft of Americans' private information." Later that day, she posted another tweet announcing that Ways and Means Committee Democrats were taking action against these alleged privacy violations by Elon Musk.
