This marks the fifth year of this fashion extravaganza in which they are joining with the organizers of Magic City Fashion Week, scheduled for June 9 & 10 at the BMA, to host a fashion show where looks are created from repurposed materials that are designed and sewn by Birmingham-area middle and high school students.

Maka Maka Reimagined Apparel // Maka Maka’s vision is to create sustainable, eco-conscious, fair trade, and innovative home and fashion products to minimize the negative impact of pollutants that are an outcome of the industry. Maka Maka also collaborates with artisan communities across the globe and helps revive some dying crafts as they are an integral part of humanity’s intangible cultural heritage. Join Maka Maka for an interactive presentation, which reimagines traditional Indian Sari apparel using upcycled and zero-waste materials.
