Annual Conference Kids Camp and Childcare Director to be hired for 2022 Annual Conference in June

1

The North Alabama of the United Methodist Church issued the following announcement on March 23.

For more than a decade, Kids Camp has been an important part of the North Alabama Annual Conference gathering. During Kids Camp, children from birth through those who have completed sixth grade have a fun and safe environment while their parents, grandparents or guardians are attending Annual Conference.

Over the years, Kids Camp has been staffed by professional children’s ministers and volunteer staff — all trained in Safe Sanctuaries with recent background checks.

For the 2022 Annual Conference, the Executive Planning Team is seeking to hire an Annual Conference Kids Camp and Childcare Director who will oversee all aspects of Kids Camp and childcare during Annual Conference. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in children’s ministry, including Safe Sanctuaries, and will have children’s ministry connections (or be able to develop connections) throughout the Conference area.

Specific duties of the Kids Camp and Childcare Director will include, but are not limited to:

  • Recruiting volunteers to staff both the nursery (on-site at the Von Braun Center) and Kids Camp (off-site at a local church)
  • Recruiting and training volunteers, including ensuring that all volunteers have a current background check and Safe Sanctuaries training
  • Managing logistics for Kids Camp and childcare including meals for participants and transportation to and from the Von Braun Center
  • Planning activities during Kids Camp
