U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.), a member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, has secured $2 million for the Veterans Recovery Center in Mobile as part of the Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education and Related Agencies Appropriations Act. The funding is intended to assist the center in acquiring equipment to treat veterans struggling with addiction.
“America’s veterans were willing to sacrifice everything in order to protect our nation and our freedoms,” said Senator Britt. “Ensuring these brave men and women receive the care they need is the least America can do in return. When I joined the Appropriations Committee, I promised to return your hard-earned taxpayer dollars to our great state. This funding is returning Alabama dollars home in order [to] help veterans facing addiction receive the services and support they need to recover and thrive.”
The FY25 Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education and Related Agencies Appropriations Act now awaits consideration by the full Senate.
Senator Britt has also secured $15.218 million for health care funding within the same appropriations act.
