U.S. Senator Katie Britt has outlined her priorities for Alabama under the new Trump administration, with Republicans holding majorities in both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. In a column, Britt expressed confidence in President Donald J. Trump's ability to deliver results, highlighting issues such as border security, energy dominance, and economic deregulation.

Britt emphasized the need for a "pro-family, pro-growth tax package" in 2025 to renew tax credits established during Trump's first term. She aims to enhance these credits to boost economic opportunity and support American workers affected by previous administrations.

The senator is advocating for child care legislation she introduced earlier this year. The Child Care Availability and Affordability Act and the Child Care Workforce Act aim to strengthen tax credits to reduce costs and increase child care supply without creating entitlement programs.

Alabama's labor force participation rate stands at 57.9 percent compared to the national rate of 62.7 percent. Britt stresses that affordable child care is crucial for parents who wish to work but are hindered by current costs.

Another focus is supporting small businesses and manufacturers by reducing regulations and restoring full expensing of research and development tax credits—a move intended to stimulate entrepreneurial growth similar to what was seen during Trump's first term.

Britt also calls for repealing the Death Tax, which she argues unfairly impacts family farms. She supports protecting Title 1 commodity support programs and crop insurance within a new Farm Bill while addressing SNAP spending concerns.

With Trump back in office alongside Republican congressional majorities, Britt sees an opportunity for Americans to take control of their futures.
