Representative Terri A. Sewell, currently serving Alabama’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of tweets highlighting significant topics ranging from economic activity generated by NIH grants to historic achievements and cultural tributes.

On February 10, 2025, Rep. Sewell tweeted about the economic impact of NIH grants in Alabama, stating: "NIH grants and contracts generated nearly $1 billion of economic activity in Alabama last year, and our researchers have been at the forefront of historic medical breakthroughs. Trump’s massive cuts to NIH research would not only halt our ability to find treatments and cures, but…"

On February 11, 2025, she paid tribute to Eddie Kendricks, an influential figure in music history: "Alabama native Eddie Kendricks was an American singer, songwriter, and the lead singer of the Temptations from 1960 to 1971. His iconic falsetto voice and style was truly one of kind! #BlackHistoryMonth"

Later that day, Rep. Sewell celebrated a personal milestone within her congressional career: "Making history! We just wrapped up our first @WaysMeansCmte Oversight Subcommittee hearing of the 119th Congress. As the new Ranking Member, I’m proud to be the first Black woman to serve in a leadership role in the Committee’s 236-year history!"
