Rep. Terri A. Sewell announces legislation and criticizes administration policies in April 2025 tweets

Rep. Terri A. Sewell, a U.S. Congress member representing Alabama's 7th District since 2011, shared her perspectives on recent legislative and administrative actions through a series of tweets in April 2025. She has expressed strong opposition to current policies and introduced new legislative measures alongside her colleagues.

On April 10, 2025, Sewell voiced her dissent regarding the SAVE Act, stating her opposition with forceful language. She tweeted, "The SAVE Act would make it harder for millions of Americans to vote. I voted HELL NO."

Later the same day, Sewell reported on legislative activity in which she participated. Along with the Ways and Means Committee, she introduced a bill aimed at repealing tariffs imposed during Donald Trump's presidency. She communicated, "NEWS: My @WaysMeansCmte colleagues and I just introduced legislation to end Trump’s tariff chaos and return trade authority to Congress. We won’t sit by as Donald Trump wrecks our economy and drives up prices!"

On April 11, 2025, Sewell informed her followers about an action taken by the Trump Administration concerning Lowndes County. She relayed news on the termination of an agreement related to environmental justice, tweeting, "NEWS: The Trump Administration has terminated DOJ’s environmental justice agreement concerning drinking water and wastewater conditions in Lowndes County. Read my statement below. "

Terri Sewell, born in Huntsville, Alabama in 1965 and currently residing in Birmingham, holds a BA from Princeton, a MA from Oxford, and a JD from Harvard. She maintains an active role in addressing complex national issues through her work in Congress.
