Washington, D.C. – Representative Gary Palmer (AL-06) voted against the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act for FY24 and expressed his concerns regarding the current appropriations process. In a statement released following his vote, Palmer highlighted the shortcomings of the legislation and the need for reform.
“This legislation is just another example of an appropriations process that is broken. Sadly, there is no real desire to fix the process so that we pass transparent appropriations bills before the required June 30th deadline,” said Rep. Palmer.
Palmer emphasized the importance of fiscal responsibility, stating, “In order to restore fiscal responsibility, we must focus on passing twelve appropriations bills on time instead of being forced to fiscal cliff after fiscal cliff.”
The representative's decision to vote against the spending bill underscores his commitment to addressing the flaws in the current appropriations process and advocating for greater transparency and efficiency in government spending.
