Birmingham man sentenced for drug trafficking and firearms offenses

A Birmingham man has been sentenced to over ten years in prison for drug trafficking and firearms charges. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona and FBI Special Agent in Charge Carlton L. Peeples.

Courdarius Lamont Hall, also known as "Skinny," aged 26, received a sentence of 123 months from U.S. District Court Judge Madeline H. Haikala. In April 2024, Hall admitted guilt to charges of distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl, intending to distribute these substances, and possessing a firearm to further his drug trafficking activities.

The plea agreement revealed that Hall engaged in three separate controlled drug transactions in 2023, selling methamphetamine and fentanyl to a confidential source. Deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at Hall's residence. They discovered significant quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl hidden in his daughter's Minnie Mouse backpack, along with a Glock .40 caliber pistol modified with a machinegun-conversion device known as a "Glock switch," a Draco .223 caliber firearm, and an extended drum magazine loaded with ammunition.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI in collaboration with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Vice and Narcotics Division. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brittany T. Byrd led the prosecution.
