The Trump Administration has expressed support for Representative Gary Palmer's legislation, H.J. Res 20, through a Statement of Administration Policy (SAP) released recently. The legislation aims to reverse the Biden-Harris Administration’s rule that bans gas-fired water heaters.

Representative Palmer criticized the rule introduced by the previous administration's Department of Energy, stating: "In their final days in office, the Biden-Harris Administration’s Department of Energy introduced a rule that would ban gas-fired water heaters. This egregious rule, if continued, would restrict consumer choice, limit the use of natural gas appliances, and increase prices for American families."

Palmer further explained his motivation behind introducing H.J. Res 20: "I introduced H.J. Res 20 to disapprove of and rescind this rule because the American people deserve better." He also expressed gratitude towards President Trump and his administration for their support: "I’m thankful that President Trump and his Administration agree that this rule, and any similar rules in the future, should be rescinded so that consumer choice is protected and prices remain affordable."
